Xinuos is pleased to announce the immediate availability of the following for SCO OpenServer 6 Definitive 2018:

• Support for KVM (additional license required)
• OSS726, Version I (OSS726I)
• Maintenance Pack 1 (MP1)
• Update Pack 1 (UP1) (additional license required)

OpenServer 6 Definitive 2018, when installed with the new ISO, now supports running on various Linux platforms under the Kernel-based Virtual Machine (KVM) virtualization environment, such as Proxmox. An additional platform license for KVM must be purchased and installed to enable such installations.

OSS726I provides major enhancements and bug fixes to the base operating system. These changes expand the software that can run on OpenServer 6 Definitive 2018, including ports provided in MP1 and UP1. The OpenServer 6 Definitive 2018 Maintenance Pack 1 (MP1) and Update Pack 1 (UP1) enhance OpenServer 6 Definitive 2018 with security and bug fixes, as well as many new features.

MP1 (Maintenance Pack 1) Includes:

• Python 3.10.12
• Numerous additional open-source packages

These are core operating system packages required for OpenServer 6 Definitive 2018 support, maintaining a secure open-source environment, and enabling newer features, such as those in UP1. See Appendix A for a complete listing of MP1 packages.

MP1 is cumulative and will be updated over time as newer versions and additional packages become available. MP1 requires OSS726, Version I or later.

UP1 (Update Pack 1) Includes:

• Perl version 5.34.0
• Sendmail version 8.17.2
• Samba version 4.10.16

See Appendix B for a complete listing of UP1 packages. UP1 requires that MP1 is already installed.

patchck has been improved and streamlined to facilitate easy installation of these offerings on top of your already installed and licensed OpenServer 6 Definitive 2018 system. Refer to the Installing MP1 and UP1 section of the documentation to use patchck to install the required MP1 and, optionally, the separately licensed UP1.
